"together" combines digital albums with a social media platform. The app allows users to create albums and share them either with selected friends or the entire platform community. This mix of private and public pages is intended to inspire users to share real content without filters or social pressure

We accompanied together from the initial concept to the finished product. In an intensive design process, we looked for the best possibilities and ways to realize the idea in the form of an app. Wireframes and design proposals evolved into a comprehensive prototype, which acted as a single source of truth during development.

The Figma prototype was at the center of the development process. The screens were realized with precision and high quality. In addition to the visual appearance, particular attention was paid to ensuring high security standards and fast loading times. At the same time, high image quality was particularly important to the founders of together to ensure that users' memories and experiences are preserved in high quality.

Infrastructure and deployment
Social media apps store and manage a large amount of data. It was therefore particularly important in the together project to meet the highest standards in terms of infrastructure and deployment in order to ensure fast loading times and uncomplicated updates. The development team's activities included the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, automatic delivery and the design and set-up of Kubernetes (K8s) on Azure. We also supported our customer together with the takeover of the app and advised them on Git deployment and Azure.

Cross-platform
development
To reach both Android and iOS users at the same time, we relied on React Native . This technology enabled us to use a single code base for both platforms. Native development with separate codebases for Android and iOS would have offered some advantages, but would not have been feasible within the given time frame. React Native, on the other hand, offered us a time-efficient and high-performance solution that is particularly suitable for the development of mobile applications.

Technical focus of together app development
When developing the together app, our team paid particular attention to the following areas:
Image and video optimization
User-generated content such as images and videos is at the heart of the together app. It was therefore essential to ensure the highest possible image quality with short loading times. We achieved this by using image compression techniques and optimized loading processes.
Secure authentication
For secure authentication, we relied on Keycloak in combination with OAuth 2.0, a proven and secure standard that also enables simple integration. This enabled us to implement a stable and data protection-compliant login process.
Fast loading times
To provide users with a fast and smooth experience, we designed the backend architecture to be as efficient as possible. By continuously optimizing the database models and API requests, we ensured that actions such as posting, responding and subscribing run quickly and smoothly.
